DIMAPUR, May 30 - The Nagaland Board of Secondary Education today announced the results of the HSLC and HSSLC examinations for this year.
Out of the 22,392 candidates who sat for the HSLC examination this year, 15,680 candidates came out successful, the pass percentage being 70.03.
In the HSSLC examination, the overall pass percentage in the Arts stream is 71.87, in the Commerce stream, it is 75.47 and in the Science stream, the pass percentage is 80.99.
Girls have fared better in the HSLC examination with 8,470 girls clearing it. As many as 7,210 boys have passed the examination. There are 55 candidates in the top 20 merit list, out of whom 39 are girls and only 16 are boys.
Altogether 96 schools registered 100 per cent success in the HSLC examination. Out of these schools, 83 are private schools and 13 are government ones. Thirty-four schools drew a blank, out of which 30 are government schools and four private schools.
In terms of district-wise performance for government schools, Kohima district topped the table with a pass percentage of 64, followed by Mokokchung and Peren districts with an identical pass percentage of 57. Longleng district lies at the bottom with 10 per cent success.
In respect of private schools, Kohima district is at the top with a pass percentage of 89, followed by Mokokchung with 88.
In the HSSLC examination, eight institutions under the Arts stream, six under the Science stream and five under the Commerce stream scored 100 per cent pass results. A total of 15,461 candidates had sat for the HSSLC examination. There are two toppers from government higher secondary schools in the merit list of the HSSLC examination, 2020.
