By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, July 22 - Nagaland Government has reiterated its warning that those officials who made unauthorised appointments without sanctioned posts will be penalised and criminal prosecution will be initiated against them.

In a recent notification, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&AR) also warned that all payments of pensionary benefits should be withheld till the criminal cases against the erring officials are disposed off.

The notification said the government has found that a number of unauthorised appointments without sanctioned posts have been made by certain heads of departments despite clear instructions against such appoitments. Such violation of standing rules/procedures was viewed seriously by the government, it said.

The department said the State Government had issued instructions that all appointments at all levels will be made only against existing vacant posts that have been created in accordance with the rules in force and no appointment of any sort will be made in the absence of a vacant post vide an office memorandum dated February, 26, 2001.
