Nagaland Govt asked to resolve menace of illegal immigrants

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Sept 28 - Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has urged the Government of Nagaland to have a comprehensive and strategic plan to resolve the menace of illegal infiltrators before it becomes too overwhelming to handle.

Expressing concern over the daring assault of a Naga family in Chumukedima area by illegal immigrants recently, the NTC, in a release, said the incident speaks volumes of what is going to happen to the sons of the soil anytime in Nagaland.

The NTC stated that booking the culprits alone is not enough as that does not settle the issue of the huge presence of illegal and foreign nationals in the State of Nagaland.

It also lamented that the assailants of L Doulo, a prominent Naga entrepreneur in Dimapur are reportedly allowed to be at large without a single of them being booked.

The lethargy of the district administration and police gives the impression that the state Govt is abetting much crime in Nagaland. In defence of the innocent and law abiding citizens, such crime mongers should never be spared by the Government. The delay in booking the culprits itself and not to speak of letting them off will definitely encourage the anti-people elements to take undue advantage of the gullible citizens, it said.

The NTC urged the authority concerned to arrest those criminals without further delay.
