Nagaland COVID-19 tally mounts to 956

DIMAPUR, July 17 - The COVID-19 tally in Nagaland has risen to 956 with the detection of 40 more positive cases today.

In a media briefing, Principal Secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha said as of Friday, the total number of positive cases in the State stood at 956.

He said all the positive persons are undergoing treatment at designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID Care Centres in Nagaland. He added that active surveillance and contact tracing are in progress to prevent further spread of the infection.

Out of the 956 positive cases, the total active cases are 551, while 405 patients have already recovered. As per the severity of symptoms, 548 cases are asymptomatic, two are mild and one is moderate.

Sinha said that 17,570 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR till Friday and the results of 17,229 samples have been received.

Besides, 11,727 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat. Out of these, 10,880 samples have tested negative and 349 tested positive, which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.

Altogether 2,922 persons are presently under facility quarantine in the State.
