In his official Twitter handle, Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom stated that seven persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Tuensang Deputy Commissioner Kumar Ramnikant, in a press release on Friday, said one person at the Sao Chang College quarantine centre has tested positive for COVID-19. He has been admitted to the district COVID hospital at Tuensang and the contact tracing process has been initiated.

As per the latest report, Ramnikant said the person is asymptomatic and in a stable condition. He said the total number of positive cases in Tuensang stood at five on Friday.

In another development, Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy today directed all the deputy commissioners of the State to intimate to his office, the names, designations and other details of the officers who are not present in their respective district headquarters.

In an order, Toy said the report should reach his office by 3 pm on June 1. He warned that disciplinary proceedings would be initiated against them.

The order follows reports that the heads of many district offices are yet to report for duties in their respective district headquarters. He said this is unacceptable and amounts to wilful disobedience of government orders.
