Nagaland Cong chief flays Modis remark against Rajiv Gandhi

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, May 7 - Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) president K Therie today condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modis corrupt no. 1 remark against late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and called it utter madness.

Therie told this correspondent that Modi had made one of the most painful remarks and unfounded allegations against the late Prime Minister, 28 years after his assassination, to win votes.

It is very shocking. We cannot forgive him, Therie said. The NPCC chief also issued a release on Tuesday, condemning Modis remark.

He said there is no record that Gandhi was convicted by any court of law for corruption.

Dragging Rajiv Gandhis name whose life was shortened abruptly at his prime age is most painful, Therie said. He added that history would not forgive Modi for his lies.

For us, Rajiv Gandhi is a national martyr and we respect his sacrifice. He was a great, brave and rock solid son of the soil. We miss him, the NPCC president said.

Calling the BJP an opportunist party, Therie said the party denies the achievements of the Congress party in 60 years but shamelessly enjoys the fruits.

He alleged that Modis five-year rule has made no achievements to fight the elections. He said Modi is now attacking the 60 years of Congress rule and even late Rajiv Gandhi who first ushered in digital technology in India.

He said Gandhi took India forward on global stage. We owe all that we have today to the pioneers and founding fathers of the Congress. We are second to none in the world not because of the BJP, Therie maintained.

According to the NPCC chief, Modi will go down the annals of history as the tallest liar as all his promises are turning into lies.

Therie supported Congress president Rahul Gandhis statement that Modis karma awaits him on May 23.
