Nagaland condoles Sangma�s death

DIMAPUR, March 5 - Nagaland Governor PB Acharya, Chief Minister TR Zeliang and others have mourned the demise of former Lok Sabha Speaker PA Sangma.

Condoling Sangma�s death, Acharya described him as an astute politician, a social worker and a great leader from Garo tribe of Meghalaya. Acharya conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

In a condolence message, Zeliang said Sangma, who taught him in Don Bosco High School, Dibrugarh in 1971, later became a mentor and a colleague in the Parliament.

The Chief Minister said the NE has lost one of its towering leaders and the nation a popular political personality.

Nagaland Assembly Speaker Chotisuh Sazo and Lok Sabha MP and former CM of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio have expressed shock at the demise of Sangma and said his demise was a great loss for India.
