Nagaland CM goes into self-quarantine

DIMAPUR, July 16 - Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has gone into self-quarantine after returning from New Delhi.

Rio said he has self-quarantined himself as a precautionary measure. However, he said he would continue to discharge his duties during the quarantine period.

�As a precautionary measure, I'm on self-quarantine on my return to Nagaland from Delhi. Taking precautions to ensure safety of others & myself. Will continue discharging duties,� Rio tweeted on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Rio had met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the prevailing law-and-order situation in the State. Rio also briefed Singh on the steps taken to contain COVID-19 in the state.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and four other MLAs have undergone COVID-19 tests in New Delhi after a driver and some employees of the Nagaland House there testing positive. All the legislators will quarantine themselves in a government quarantine centre on return to Nagaland, although their test results are negative.
