Nagaland cases reach 9,207

DIMAPUR, Nov 4 - A total of 56 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Nagaland today, taking the State�s virus tally to 9,207.

Principal Secretary (Home) Abhijit Sinha said that 27 of these cases were recorded in Dimapur, 24 in Kohima, two each in Mon and Tuensang, and one in Phek. He said that out of the 9,207 positive cases, 7,934 people have already recovered so far. The active cases stand at 1,143. There have been 38 deaths due to the virus till date.

As per severity of symptoms, 1,091 active cases are asymptomatic, 34 mild, eight moderate and on oxygen, six severe and on oxygen and four are on ventilator support, he said.

As many as 3,977 of the total COVID-19 patients recorded in the State so far are from the armed forces/police, 1,664 are returnees, 3,120 are traced contacts and 446 are frontline workers.

Sinha said that a total of 63,055 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and the results of 61,850 samples have been received. He added that 33,973 samples have been sent for testing on TrueNat and the results of 33,945 samples have been received till date. As many as 4,207 samples have been put to rapid antigen tests.
