Naga writer, activist passes away

DIMAPUR, April 10 - Writer, columnist and human rights activist Kaka D Iralu passed away in a hospital here today. He was 64.

Iralu was a prominent commentator on the Naga political movement.

His book, Nagaland and India: The Blood and the Tears, was published in 2000.

Meanwhile, several organisations have condoled the demise of Iralu.

In its condolence message, the Naga Hoho said that Kaka Iralu was a prolific writer, a real Naga patriot and a historian.

The NSCN (I-M) said that it �is shocked to learn of the sudden demise of Mr Kaka D Iralu�. The outfit called him a man of strong integrity and commitment in voicing the Naga political movement.

The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) said that the life of Kaka Iralu was a grand tale of the uncompromising Naga spirit.
