NEW DELHI, Oct 16 (PTI) They are young, short and peppy.
But these Naga policewomen are equally at ease when taking on miscreants and ensuring public security.
The personnel of the first Naga Mahilla Battalion were deployed in various markets and the Delhi Metro to provide assistance to Delhi Police in securing the national capital during the Commonwealth Games.
Their work not only received appreciation from general public but also from Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, who said the women did a "splendid" job. Addressing them, the Minister today said they were given a tough job of securing markets which are vulnerable and they did their job with great skill, endurance and a smile on their face - something that endeared them to the people.
