Naga issue is above party politics: Cong

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, June 16 The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has alleged that the State BJP leaders have miserably failed to understand that the Naga political issue is greater and well above party politics.

The Nagaland Congress, in a release issued today, also alleged that the abrogation of ceasefire by the NSCN(K) was not done by it alone while stating that the BJP government at the Centre had decided not to extend the ceasefire without bothering for a second opinion and ignoring the State government.

It reiterated that the State government of the day is solely responsible for the present situation and cannot shift responsibility on the past nor even future government.

The State Congress added that blaming Congress for every problem has been the BJPs staple diet while reaping the benefits of the past regime.

On Congress legislators joining the TR Zeliang government, the NPCC said the party had already suspended all the eight MLAs, whereas the BJP, which hoarsely voiced that it would not be part of a government that included Congress, is still dreaming of sharing the spoils of governance, by swallowing its own vomit.

The Pradesh Congress said people are watching the duplicity and hollowness of statements issued by the BJP.
