IMPHAL, Dec 21 - The issue of non-disclosure of the details of Framework Agreement between Centre and NSCN(IM) rocked the Manipur Assembly on Thursday.
The House after a three hour-long debate on the issue, decided to take a resolution urging the Central Government to spell out the details of the agreement. They also reiterated to take a resolution to protect the territorial integrity of the State at any cost.
The members of ruling and opposition benches formed a four member committee to look into the matter relating to the drafting of the memorandum.
The discussion was initiated by opposition MLA Kh Joykishan after Speaker Y Khemchand converted his call attention motion into a short duration discussion on the concern of the people of Manipur due to the inability of the government to spell out the details of the framework agreement.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh informed the House that the Framework Agreement between NSCN(IM) and Government of India signed on August 31, 2015 has not been revealed to the public till date.
Stating that his government would continue to urge Centre to reveal the contents to the general public, he agreed to the proposal of adopting a resolution in the House to submit a memorandum to the Centre in this regard.
