By Correspondent

IMPHAL, Dec 12 - The proposed visit of BJP national president JP Nadda to Manipur has been postponed due to the recent incident in West Bengal where his convoy came under attack, sources said. It is not immediately clear when the BJP chief will visit the State now.

Nadda was earlier scheduled to arrive in Imphal on December 13 on a two-day visit to the State as part of his 120-day tour across the country. Hotel rooms were booked for his stay here, while media persons were also informed in advance to prepare for a press conference prior to his departure on December 14.

As of now, there is no tentative itinerary, a party source said when contacted. The visit may be rescheduled after the first week of January, he added.

However, Chief Minister N Biren Singh is confident that the BJP chief would visit the State in a few days time.

Meanwhile, BJP national general secretary Ajay Jamwal has arrived here.
