DERGAON, Nov 28 � About one lakh devotees today attended the 243rd Na-lagua Utsav at Barbheti, twenty-six kilometres from Dergaon.
The Utsav was initiated by the satradhikar of Moderkhat Satra Chabua, Bhoktananda Devgoswami yesterday.
Today�s programme started with Bhagawat Path around 6 am in the morning. This was followed by Gayan-Bayan where more than 60 troupes participated.
�People offer prayers to God on this platform (bheti). The devotees offer salt and other items while praying,� president of the Barbheti Sangrakhyan and Unnayan Samiti Purnakanta Bora informed. �Devotees numbering about one lakh thronged the Na-lagua Utsav,� he added.
Bora also informed this correspondent that a parmanent office of the committee to be built at a cost of Rs. 30 lakh, would be completed in four months. He said they had not received any government assistance till date.
