N Lakhimpur scribe presented Lions Karmayogi Award

NORTH LAKHIMPUR, March 12 - Prominent social worker and journalist Rajesh Malpani was presented the prestigious Karmayogi Award of Lions Club 322-D of the northeast for his outstanding contribution for social work and voluntary service. Malpani, the North Lakhimpur correspondent of the Hindi daily Sentinel, who is also an eminent businessman here, has been a champion of voluntary blood donation and other social services in Lakhimpur district for many years.

The award, which is voted by 70 affiliated clubs of Lions Club 322-D consists of an amount of Rs 51,000, a plaque and a shawl which was presented to Rajesh Malpani by Lions Club District Governor M Gajendra Singh and former International Governor of Lions Club Raju Molwani during the Lions Club�s annual district conference in Imphal, Manipur on Saturday.

Award recipient Malpani, who had earlier donated Rs 51,000/- to the families of the Pulwama martyrs and equal amount to the martyred CRPF jawan from Assam, Maneswar Basumatary, donated the award amount to a school situated at Mahari Camp, Gogamukh run by Vidya Bharati.
