BONGAIGAON, Sept 29 - A large portion of the ceiling of New Bongaigaon Railway Station�s ticket booking counter collapsed on Friday morning amid heavy rain.
No casualty has been reported so far in the incident as the number of passengers was thin in the morning hours due to the rainy weather, said a railway employee.
The Station Master said that he had already informed high officials of the department about the incident. Because of continuous rains along with strong thunder, the ceiling had collapsed all of a sudden, the Station Master added.
But the passengers of the station have blamed the contractor for his substandard works and equally held the railway officials responsible for their negligence in monitoring the construction works of the department. The passengers have demanded proper probe into the incident so that responsibility is fixed on guilty officials and the contractor.
