Museum in RD Burman�s memory coming up in Tripura

AGARTALA, June 15 - The Tripura Government has decided to build a museum to preserve the valuable and memorable cultural works of music maestro RD Burman.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who has pushed the plan, has had a telephonic conversation with renowned singer Asha Bhosle and invited her to visit the State, the land of Panchamda, her husband, to inaugurate the museum.

�Bhosleji has accepted the invitation on behalf of the 37 lakh people of Tripura. Our Government is committed towards promoting the art and culture, especially that of Panchamda,� the Chief Minister said in a Facebook post on Friday night.

Deb said, �We have decided to build a museum to showcase the rich cultural works of renowned music composer, director RD Burman. An honest request was made to her (Bhosle) to inaugurate the proposed museum and be associated with the memorable initiative.�

Meanwhile, BJP all-India secretary Sunil Deodhar met Asha Bhosle at her Mumbai residence yesterday and invited her to visit Tripura. �My in-laws are from Tripura. I had a long wish to visit the State to roam around the King�s Palace (Ujjayanta Palace). I had told Pancham to take me to Tripura and he had assured me to fulfil my wish but could not make it. I will certainly visit Tripura,� she said in a video message that was posted in Deodhar�s Facebook page.
