TEZPUR, Sept 14 - Majaharul Sultan, a fake physician of Gutlung in Tezpur, has been arrested for running an illegal clinic.
Popular among the people as �Munna Bhai�, he was running an illegal clinic named �MS Sultan Clinic� in Gutlung under Mahabhairab Police Outpost for many years. During police probe, it came to light that the self-styled physician was treating all kinds of ignorant patients � even with cancer and gynaecological problems.
Sultan studied only till 12th standard, and that too in the Arts stream, and how he became a physician is being investigated.
Police said it was found that Sultan was involved in other unlawful activities like child trafficking, gender detection and killing of foetus.
The issue came to light after a woman, Rabia Khatun, lodged a complaint at the Mahabhairab Outpost against her husband, regarding child trafficking, where she mentioned the nexus of the fake doctor and his clinic.
After primary investigation based on the complaint, police booked Sultan and conducted a search at the clinic and managed to collect many inputs. Police have registered a case against the accused and he was taken into custody.
