GUWAHATI, Nov 3 - The Munin Barkotoki Memorial Trust, formed in the cherished memory of renowned writer, critic and journalist Munin Barkotoki, has declared the �Munin Barkotoki Literary Award� 2015 jointly to writer-critic Jyoti Khataniyar for his manuscript Iman Xaral Ne Chegun Dudal and poet Pratim Barua for his anthology Aru Niravata.
This annual award has been instituted to encourage young and promising writers in Assamese. The prize carries a cash award of Rs 50,000, to be given to both winners jointly. This was stated in a press release.
