GAURIPUR, Oct 11 - People of all communities, specially the devotees of Goddess Mahamaya have condemned the authority of the Gauripur Town Committee for not improving the condition of the 300-metre-long bye-lane running from the Children Park to Gauripur Community Health Centre and connecting the historic Ma Mahamaya temple for several years now.
The by-lane is the short municipal road connecting the health centre, control room of the ASEB and Nari Samiti etc., and people always use this road to go to their destination but the condition of the road is so dilapidated that everyday the pedestrians come face to face with accidents. People of all sections have requested the authority to repair and improve the road but the authority has paid no heed to their genuine demands at all.
The Ward Commissioner of the area is the Vice-chairman of the town committee, but she has also not been seen taking any action for last several years, for reasons best known to her. People of the area have again urged the authority to take measures for improvement of the important by-lane without any further delay.
