Mumbai to host world bodybuilding

MUMBAI, Nov 26 � The Indian Body Builders Federation (IBBF) is all set to host the 6th World Body Building and Physique Sports Competition from December 7 to 9 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO in Mumbai.

The championship will witness 48 countries in the fray. The highest athlete participation will be from Iran with 56 while Thailand (38) Hungary (32) and Brazil (28) will be other big contingents.

The countries that will participate in this larger than life event are: Afghanistan, South Africa, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bhutan, Brazil, China Macau, China Taipei, China, Czech Republic, England, France, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iraq, Iran, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Nepal, New Caledonia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.

Key bodybuilders like M Robi Meitei (70 kg) and Nabhajit Kumar Das (Athletic Physique) from Assam, Sarita Thingbaijam and K Rebita Devi (Women Senior Open) and Yendremban Nando Luwang (Men Master 60 Years) from Manipur and Kabeer Diddan (Sports Physique) from Meghalaya will be vying for securing medals in their respective categories, stated a press release.
