Mumbai take lead against Assam

MANGALDAI, Dec 6 - The four-day Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 cricket match between hosts Assam and Mumbai is evenly poised after the second day at the Mangaldai Stadium on Tuesday.

At the end of the second day�s play, Assam took a lead of 14 runs in their second innings with 8 wickets in hand as Assam were 102 for two. Abhisekh Thakuri was batting on 38 after opener Riyan Parag (34) was out in the last over of the day.

Earlier, Mumbai were all out for 285 runs in 83.4 overs in their first innings in reply to Assam�s first innings total of 197 runs and managed to take a vital lead of 88 runs. Siddhat Akre (55) and Shoiab Siddique (50) were the top scorers for the visitors while Rahul Singh (4/75) and Hrishikesh Borah (3/30) were the pick of the Assam bowlers.

In the first innings, Assam skipper Jitumani Kalita top scored with 39 runs while Riyan Parag (35) and Hrishikesh Borah (29 n.o) were the other notable contributors. Mumbai left arm spinner Pandey Subhom (5/41) ripped through Assam�s batting line-up in the first innings.
