SIVASAGAR, April 18 � With a day-long programme, Mukoli Bihu was held at the historic Rangghar premises here on April 15.

The programme started with flag hoisting by the organising committee president Aswini Kumar Chetia followed by maidam tarpan and smriti tarpan by Manirul Islam Bora and Bosonta Gogoi.

Earlier, the Swargadeo was ceremonially welcomed to the Rangghar by a cultural procession from the Talatal Ghar, which was inaugurated by Arjun Bhogeswar Boruah and led by Deputy Commissioner Birendra Mittal.

The cultural programme at the Rangghar was inaugurated by Upper Assam DIG Satyen Gogoi, where Birendra Mittal, SP Bibekananda Das and ATASU president Little Buragohain were felicitated. A souvenir titled Rangpuror Ranasingha was released by educationist Dr Monjit Gogoi, whereas Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta released a book of poems titled Budhar Bichora Rati.

In a cultural show, artistes like Shamantica Sarmah, Amrita Gogoi, Nayan Nilim and Biki performed Bihu dance while Debojit Bora and Diganto Mohan rocked the stage with their melodious voice.
