GUWAHATI, April 15 - Like previous years, Mukoli Bihu was organised by the All Guwahati Students� Union (AGSU) at the historic Judges� Field on April 13. As part of the celebration, the AGSU also felicitated a number of artistes, litterateurs, players and distinguished citizens in appreciation of their contribution and achievements in the current year.
Those felicitated included recipients of Padmashree awards Dhirendra Nath Bezboruah, Dr Kameswar Brahma, Ajoy Kumar Dutta and Prahlad Chandra Tasha. Also felicitated were Sahitya Akademi awardees Eli Ahmed, Kuladhar Saikia, Tiren Boro, Brajen Kumar Brahma, Suren Talukdar, Dhanshree Swargiary and Sahitya Akademi youth awardees like Mridul Haloi, Leben Lal Mooshahary, Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees Rebokanta Mahanta, Anita Sarma, Sangeet Natak Youth Award winner Dr Anwesha Mahanta, Mridusmita Das Bora, Pranjal Gogoi. Besides, national award winners Manju Borah, Sankarlal Goenka, Samujjal Kashyap, Nilanjana Dutta, Bhaskar Hazarika and sportsperson Susan Das Choudhury were also felicitated by AASU adviser Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya.
Earlier, the Bihu flag was unfurled by noted educationst Dr Sushil Goswami, while AASU president Deepanka Kumar Nath hoisted the AASU flag, marking the inauguration of the programme, which was well attended.
