Mukhi unhappy over unhygienic hospitals

SIVASAGAR, June 28 - Governor Prof Jagadish Mukhi, who visited the Sivasagar Civil Hospital, Sibsagar College and Charaideo Civil Hospital during his two-day visit to this temple town, expressed unhappiness over the unhygienic condition of the hospitals.

Before leaving for Charaideo yesterday, the Governor visited Sibsagar College on the bank of the historic Joysagar tank and interacted with the teachers and students of the college. He expressed dissatisfaction over the toilet facilities for students, specially girls, and directed the college authorities to take steps promptly.

Visiting the Sivasagar Civil Hospital, the Governor thoroughly inspected the toilets and other facilities and directed the district administration and hospital Superintendent Dr Rajiv Boruah to make the toilets and other facilities clean within a month or face administrative action. The Governor interacted with the patients and expressed surprise over the poor state the hospital is in despite the Government�s continued support to improve facilities.

The Governor was also unhappy over the unhygienic condition of the toilets at Charaideo Civil Hospital in Rajapukhuri on the way to Sonari. Later, the Governor visited TRGM HS School and No. 1 Town Primary.
