DIMAPUR, May 3 Despite opposition from Manipur Government, NSCN-IM general secretary Th Muivah, who arrived at Dimapur from New Delhi on May 1, is determined to visit his native village Somdal in Ukhrul district of Manipur.

It is my birth right. Who can stop me from going to my village, Muivah told reporters after his arrival in Dimapur airport.

Though he was scheduled to go to his native village on May 3, his visit has been deferred by a day and he will leave only tomorrow.

After his arrival in Dimapur airport along with his wife and other top functionaries of the NSCN-IM, Muivah drove straight to Camp Hebron, the headquarters of the outfit, near Dimapur under heavy security.

He also said he made his plan to visit his village in consultation with the Government of India and that he has nothing to do with the Manipur Government.

When asked how he felt about his proposed visit to his village, Muivah said as a human being I feel very emotional.

The NSCN-IM leader is visiting his village after more than 40 years.

On the ongoing talks between the NSCN-IM and the Government of India, he asserted that both sides are very sincere and is confident that some solution will surely be found out.

The Manipur Government has opposed Muivahs visit to the State apprehending that his visit may disturb communal harmony.

The State Government is also learnt to have made necessary security arrangements at two possible entry points to prevent his entry to the State.

Earlier, Manipur DGP Y Joy Kumar expressed inability of Manipur police to provide security to Muivah.
