AIZAWL, Jan 18 - Members of Mizo Students Union (MSU) and Mizoram Blind Society (MBS) today staged a demonstration in front of the office of the People with Disabilities (PwD) Commissioner B Sairengpuii.

Police said that no untoward incident was reported as Sairengpuii, the younger sister of State Chief Minister Lal Thanhawlas wife, did not attend office.

MSU leaders said that the appointment and extension of the service of Sairenpuii as PwD Commissioner was a clear case of nepotism by the State Governmrnt.

The differently-abled associations of the State were opposed to her appointment as PwD Commissioner from day one. They said that MSU would continue its demonstration till the extension order is cancelled by the government. PTI
