GUWAHATI, May 9 - Professor Mrinal Miri was awarded the Pandit Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar Gold Plaque by the Asiatic Society of India, in recognition of his contribution to social understanding, at a ceremony held in Kolkata on May 8, according to a press release issued here today.
Other awardees included former Vice President Hamid Ansari, Professor Sabyasachi Bhattacharya and Professor Kunal Chakraborti in their respective spheres of achievements.
The awards were presented by the Governor of West Bengal, the release stated.
