IMPHAL, Dec 10 (PTI): The Manipur People's Party (MPP) has demanded that Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and his Cabinet colleagues declare their personal assets.
Citing the directives of the Union Cabinet Secretary, MPP general secretary W Hemanta said in a statement here that Union Ministers should upload on the Prime Minister's official website the wealth and assets of all the ministers.
He said this was an attempt to control the rising corruption, and State ministers including the Chief Minister, should also declare their personal wealth and assets at the public.
The MPP general secretary said Manipur was one of the most corrupt States adding that major chunk of funds and developmental schemes were being siphoned off into the pockets of the ministers and other officials.
Hemanta also alleged that Public Distribution System (PDS) items were also not distributed to the public effectively.
