MP reviews ongoing schemes

TEZPUR, Feb 28 - MP Ram Prasad Sarma today reviewed the progress of ongoing schemes at a meeting held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner�s office, Tezpur.

Sarma, who is also the chairman of the DISHA committee, reviewed the implementation of all the centrally-sponsored schemes in the district and directed the departments to take immediate steps to expedite the execution process of these schemes and to ensure early completion of the targets. He also directed all the departments to submit their action taken reports in the next quarterly meeting of DISHA committee.

Progress of PMGSY, ARWSP, SBM-G, DDUGJY, Saubhagya, PMAY-G, among others were also discussed in the meeting. The chairman also reviewed the progress of works under Agriculture, Forest, Water Resources, Irrigation departments in the same meeting.

He asked the PWD departmental officials to look into the complaints received from various parts of the district about the quality of work and instructed them to address the same at the earliest. He appealed to the zila parishad chairperson and the newly-elected zila parishad members to involve the people in this regard. Sarma also asked the departmental officials concerned to work towards increasing job opportunities for the unemployed youths in the district and open up new avenues for them.

The MP also asked all departments to work together to remove any hurdles on the path of implementation of the people-friendly schemes being rolled out by the Government and ensure that maximum number of people can reap the benefits of the schemes.

Deputy Commissioner Narsing Pawar, MLA Tezpur LAC, Brindabon Goswami, MLA Sootea Padma Hazarika, DDC F Alam, Addl Deputy Commissioners KK Sarma, Nabajyoti Ojah, Parag Kakoty, Chairperson, Sonitpur ZPC, Dolly Surin, various departmental heads and district administration officials were present in the meeting.
