DIBRUGARH, Sept 5 - In the wake of mounting pressure from the students and faculties of Centre for Social Work Studies of Dibrugarh University, its chairperson in charge Dr Pranjal Sarma relinquished his additional post from the Centre.
Dr Pranjal Sarma is a serving faculty of the Sociology Department, Dibrugarh University. He was simultaneously serving as the chairperson in charge of the Centre for Social Work Studies of the University.
It needs to be mentioned here that the students and the faculties were not satisfied with the functioning of their chairperson. The five faculties of the Centre had even submitted their resignation a few months back through the chairperson, in protest against several issues of the Centre including the functioning of the in charge. Following the chairperson�s withdrawal from the Centre, one of the faculties informed this newspaper that the matter has been resolved now.
