Motivational project for unsuccessful students

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, June 2 The HSLC results which brought cheers to many and made them hog the limelight has also plunged many into abysmal gloom.

The students who could not clear the exams are now going through a desperate phase as instead of consolation and encouragement to convert failure into success, they are being scolded and made to feel that the world has come to an end for them.

Since results were out, Rahul (name changed) has not come out of his room. Though he has shut himself up in his room, he could still hear the jubilant voices coming from his friends house nearby. His friend Niloy has cleared the HSLC with flying colours and there has been no end of visitors to Niloys house.

Left alone, even his parents have chosen to ignore him, Rahul does not want to meet anybody now.

Rahuls is not just the lone case. According to Paresh Baishya Foundation, a majority of the students who fail to clear the HSLC face the same fate as Rahul. Our society is still to change its mindset. We think that failure is the end of all hopes, said an official of the foundation.

The foundation in 15 days is going to launch a motivational project for the students who have failed to clear the HSLC. The project was conceptualized several months ago in view of the pressure on the unsuccessful students. The foundation has already collected the suggestions of experienced teachers to motivate the unsuccessful students and is preparing an inclusive guideline that would come in handy for all- the students and their parents. The foundation firmly believes that role of the parents will go a long way in making or destroying the future of the unsuccessful students.

The unsuccessful students at this hour need psychological motivation. Our project will be launched in Kamrup district first and would be extended to other districts, said the official.
