MORIGAON, Oct 25 - The 47th Motiram Bora Memorial Football Tournament kicked off at the Khirode Boruah Stadium here today.
In the inaugural match, Jagiroad Sports Association defeated local outfit Bole Bom Club, Morigaon 2-0. The Jagiroad side attacked right from the start but failed to hit the target in the first session. However, they managed to score through their Nigerian recruit Bullet in the 72nd minute. Bitu Gohain made it 2-0 in the 79th minute.
Altogether 10 teams are participating in the championship which was inaugurated by former footballer Momin Bordoloi in a well attended opening ceremony.
