GUWAHATI, May 8 - On the occasion of Mother�s Day today, Matri Mandir, a specialised adoption agency based in the city, organised a special programme called Matri Puja to revere the mothers.
Along with the children of Matri Mandir, people of South Sarania and adjacent areas also took part in the programme. Children organised special programmes and presented gifts to the mothers.
Director of Matri Mandir, BP Saraf along with wife Meera Saraf, while participating in the programme, stressed the need to inculcate the habit of honouring the mothers among children and giving them adequate care and attention.
�Such programmes are very important to make the children aware about the place of mothers in society and in the lives of every individual. Similarly, the adults are also reminded of their responsibilities towards their mothers along with sending a message to respect every woman in society,� said a participant.
Matri Mandir also organises several welfare activities including health camps and special vocational and educational classes for children from weaker financial backgrounds.
