SIVASAGAR, Oct 16 - In a macabre incident at No-2 Gopalpur Gaon under Desangmukh Outpost, a woman of two children allegedly threw her 38-day-old baby girl into the overflowing Dikhow river on Friday night.
The woman, identified as Sikhamoni Dutta, confessed to her crime during the police interrogation. According to the police, she threw the baby girl when her carpenter husband Nironjan was not at home. She reportedly told the police that she did the act as she could not look after two children. The police arrested the woman.
