Mortal remains of CRPF jawan brought home

DIBRUGARH, Dec 26 - The mortal remains of martyred CRPF jawan Mrityunjoy Chutia (24) who laid down his life in the line of duty in Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir, was brought to Dibrugarh Airport today. His body was ceremoniously carried from the airport to his native village Lakhwa Kolajan in Dhemaji district.

Chutia�s mortal remains were brought to Dibrugarh Airport by an Indigo flight 6E-6889 from Jammu and Kashmir. DIG Rajeev Ranjan of 171 Battalion of the CRPF, DIG Jeetmal Doley of the Assam Police, DIbrugarh SP Prateek Vijay Thube paid their last respects to the martyred constable.

It may be recalled that Mrityunjoy Chutia succumbed on December 24 after sustaining injury in a terrorist grenade attack while on duty in Ganderbal the previous day. He reportedly served as a constable in 115 Battalion of the CRPF. He is survived by his parents and two siblings.
