MANGALDAI, March 21 � Morigaon inflicted a massive 278 runs defeat on Udlaguri in the JK Barua Inter-District U-19 Cricket Tournament here today.
In the morning of final day of the two-day match at Mangaldai Stadium, resuming at the overnight score of 135 for three, Morigaon started their second innings on a positive note and scored 240 losing all the wickets. Requiring an imposing 366 , Udalguri were skittled out for 87 in the second innings and suffered a huge 278-run defeat.
Mustaque Ahmed (48), Jibon Barman (46) and Subham Mittal (45) were the notable contributors in the Morigaon second innings. Ripjyoti Das of Udlaguri who had an amazing bowling figures of 6 for 4 in the Morigaon first innings took 3 for 82 while Ujjal Deka took 3 for 50. For Morigaon, Nipjyoti Gohain (3/13), Pabitra Patar (2/11) and Ashiquddin (3/17) wrecked the Udalguri second innings with some impressive bowling.
