GUWAHATI, Nov 3 - The Jalukbari Kendriya Nagarik Samiti has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) to deploy traffic police and make arrangements for rumble strips in the busy road intersections of greater Jalukbari area.
In the letter to the Deputy Commissioner, the Samiti urged him to take immediate measures so that the commuters do not face any inconvenience.
Accidents have been frequently occurring in the road intersections at Satmile, Bidyanagar, Assam Forest School, Lankeswar and Khanamukh, and many people including school children have lost their lives. There is an urgent need to deploy traffic personnel and rumble strips in these areas to prevent any more such fatalities, Samiti president Shreemanta Kumar Das stated in the letter.
