SHILLONG, July 2 � Meghalaya Speaker AT Mondal was on Sunday unanimously elected as chairman of the North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (NERCPA) and president of the North East Regional Institute of Parliamentary Studies, Training and Research (NERIPSTR).
Mondal was elected to these posts in a meeting of the NERCPA Executive Council held at the Assam Assembly complex at Dispur on Sunday.
The NERCPA is an association of Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Northeastern region which aims to promote knowledge of the constitutional, legislative, economic, social and cultural aspects of parliamentary democracy in the Northeastern States.
