SILCHAR, Sept 25 - RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will be on a three-day trip to Silchar from September 27.

Subhrangshu Shekhar Bhattacharjee, karyalay pramukh for the ensuing visit informed that Bhagwat would reach Silchar on September 27 and interact with the RSS functionaries coming from across North East as a part of in-house discussions at the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya at Ramnagar. On September 28, he will address a gathering at Rajiv Bhawan. He will depart from here on September 30, Bhattacharjee added.

It is learnt that in a bid to make the forthcoming visit of Bhagwat successful, a preparatory meeting was held at the Keshav Niketan here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the visit of the RSS chief will have interesting significance among the people and across political parties in Barak Valley in the backdrop of the developments after the publication of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the claims by the Government of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 to come up in the Parliament in November this year.
