GUWAHATI, Jan 21 - India has forgotten all enmity against Pakistan while the neighbouring country continues to have hostile intent towards us, and it is the Hindu culture and origin of India that gives it the strength to embrace all religions, ethnic groups as well as ideologies, said Sarsanghchalak (chief) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Mohan Bhagwat.

Addressing the Luitporiya Hindu Samavesh here today, Bhagwat said that Hindu culture and Hindutva are the biggest source of Indias internal strength and unity, and any attempt to weaken Hindutva will only weaken the country.

Struggle took place. Pakistan was born. Bharatvarsh (India) forgot the enmity with Pakistan from August 15, 1947. Pakistan has not forgotten it yet. This is the difference between Hindu culture and other culture, said the RSS chief. He said that the country has always faced problem whenever Hindutva has come under threat.

Bhagwat, who addressed a gathering of around 50,000 RSS cadres and other participants in chaste Hindi, said that though the Indus river and many other places associated with the Indian civilization since ancient times now fall in Pakistan, the neighbouring country never tried to lay claim to that heritage because it knew that Hindutva is synonymous with India.

This tradition of Bharatvarsh. Where was it born? The oldest language to describe this tradition is Sanskrit. Where it developed? Our original connecting civilizations Indus civilization, Sarasvati civilization, Mahenjodaro, Harappa where are these all? In Pakistan. Pakistan was formed. Why did not Pakistan say (to India) that you parted away and should not keep the name of your country Bharatvarsh, because everything of Bharat has emerged from here. So we are Bharat and you take any other name. They did not say this. Rather they wanted to separate from the name Bharat. Because they know that with Bharat name, Hindutva comes in. And Hindutva is there, so is Bharat, he said.

Bhagwat said that Hindu culture has always stressed upon embracing all divergences of religion, ethnicity, food habits, ideologies and other differences among human beings and said that people practising different faiths and following different thoughts have lived in coexistence for millennia in this country.

Existence of all languages, religions and communities are related with existence of Bharat... And this India gives the world a message, which is actually the message of humanity..., he said.

Giving the example of Srimanta Sankaradeva, the RSS leader said, All the saints who were born and lived in India, even while praising their own respective cultures and languages, always praised India.

He said that all Indians must strive to stand together to create an independent and strong society, free from hunger, poverty, deprivation and exploitation. We have to stand up and create an exploitation-free and equal society. We will create one such land that will lead the world. All will cooperate with each other and move ahead in the life filled with creative aspect and humanity, he said, adding, the Sangh, through its shakhas, has been extending a helping hand in this regard.
