Modi praises Clean Assam drive by Gogoi

GUWAHATI, Oct 6 � Prime Minister Narendra Modi has twitted that he was glad to see Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi inspiring the people of the State to work for a clean India, official sources here said.

Gogoi led the �Clean Assam� drive by wielding the broom in three city areas yesterday to arouse public interest in keeping the State clean and announced the State Government would constitute a Green Brigade and permanent committees to keep the localities neat and clean.

He also said the State Government would take up the cleanliness drive on a mission mode across the nook and corner of the State. While appealing to the citizens to keep the city clean and green, he said cleanliness was next to godliness and this was what the sages and�prophets�of all the religions of the world have taught their adherents.
