Modi Govt has failed to keep promises: Sarkar

By Prabir sil

AGARTALA, Nov 13 - Coming down heavily on the BJP- led Government for not keeping its poll promies, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday said the country is heading towards uncertainty.

Addressing an election rally at Nutannagar in West Tripuras Barjala Assembly constituency, he said Narendra Modi has completed almost three years as the Prime Minister. But what the people have witnessed so far is nothing but a disastrous experience. Modiji had promised to bring back black money stashed in foreign countries and deposit in each citizens bank account to the tune of Rs 15 lakh if the BJP is voted to power. Has anybody received the money? No citizen will receive it in future too, he said.

On the black money issue, the Chief Minister said, The recent decision of banning high value currency has created trouble for the common people. There is a lack of will to recover black money on the part of the Modi-led government. It is because big fishes pumped huge amount of fund to bring the BJP to power. Now, it has become a compulsion for the BJP-led government to safeguard the interest of these people, he alleged.

Sarkar said youths were misled after hearing tall promies providing jobs to two crore youths each year. What is the reality? Only 1.30 lakh job is being created each year while every year over one crore educated youths are registering their names in exployment exchanges, he said.

Calling upon the voters to vote for Left Front in the upcoming byelections to Barjala Assembly segement, Sarkar also sharply criticised the BJP for pushing reforms on fast-track. Modi has opened the coutnrys market to the multi-national companies to loot the people, he alleged.

In his speech, Sarkar did not spare the Trinamool Congress. Mamata Banerjees party has created a total mess in West Bengal by adopting a policy of eliminating opponents, he said.
