Modern English win school cricket title

GUWAHATI, June 4 � With a comfortable 69-run victory against South Point School, Modern English School lifted the Dhansena Sinha Memorial Trophy emerging champions in the inter school cricket meet.

In the final played at the Latasil playground here today, Modern, put into bat scored 159 losing all the wickets in 30 overs. In reply South Point managed to gather 90 as they were all out in 19.4 overs.

Bikash Teron of Modern got the man-of-the-final award while Priyankar Chakraborty of South Point was adjudged as player-of-the-tournament. Accordingly, Abhilash Teron (South Point, best batsman), Bikash Terang (Modern, best bowler), Abhijit Sarma (KV Borjhar, best fielder), Abhijit Rou (South Point, best wicket keeper), Debashis Saikia (Modern, best all rounder), Manjit Choudhury (Sarla Birla, most promising), Sarla Birla (Disciplined team) were the recipients of different trophies. The tournament was organised by River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre.
