Moderate day for Assam in U-9 chess tourney

GUWAHATI, May 22 � The Assam team�s performance on third day of the 28th National U-9 Open & Girls Chess championship was moderate with two wins and one draw in the boys category, while managing a draw in the girls category. Only one round was conducted today, where in the boys category, Nawab Mukril Zadeed registered his second win defeating Jain Divyam of Maharashtra and Sahil Dey got the better of Namitbir Singh Walia of Punjab.

Dhrupad Kashyap played a draw with Thrayambhakesh A of Puducherry. After four rounds, Manthan and Sahil have 3 points, Nawab Mukril 2 points, Dhrupad 1.5 points and Uday Bhaskar has 1 point. Abhishek AR of Kerala is in the top spot with 4 points.

In the girls category, Rishita Sinha played a draw with 2nd seed Bhagyashree Patil of Maharashtra. Rishita is now placed 6th after four rounds with 3.5 points.
