Models on impact of big dams displayed

GUWAHATI, Jan 10 - The Annual Exhibition Day of NPS International School, Guwahati, was held on Saturday.

�As the gossip relating to the �prediction� of a big earthquake in the North East has reached its crescendo, and intensified later following the jolt a couple of days ago in the North East, issues like possible impact of big dams in downstream areas of the region came to the fore during the Annual Exhibition Day,� said a statement.

It said that students in large numbers prepared science models for the event, showcasing the possible impact or benefits following construction of big dams in downstream areas.

Visitors, including parents, were able to see the research, ground work and presentation made by the students for and against the construction of big dams.

Students from Class I to Class XII prepared models on various topics, including IT, photography, fashion show, utilisation of solar energy, use of robots in modern-day activities, recycling of waste products and minimisation of road accidents using modern gadgets.

Students also prepared models depicting the Vedic style of solving mathematical puzzles.

Various products relating to art, culture, handloom, achievements of the school in various fields, among other things, were also on display during the programme.

The school students also performed march-past and various free-hand skills in front of the visiting guests as the day was also marked as the EduSports Showcasing Day.

Earlier in the day, school founder director JN Das inaugurated the event in presence of the students, parents, teachers and other guests.
