TURA, March 11 - Following the announcement of general elections yesterday, the District Magistrate, West Garo Hills, through an order has stated that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force with immediate effect.
Besides, section 144 CrPC prohibiting wall writing, pasting of posters/papers or defacement in any form, erecting/displaying of cutouts, hoarding, flags, etc., on any government premises and private premises is also currently in place.
Moreover, carrying of any type of arms and explosives in the entire district is also prohibited till the election process is over. However, this order shall not apply to law enforcing authorities such as police personnel, home guards, Forest personnel, BSF and CPMF personnel.
