JALUKBARI, April 27 - A joint team of 1st Bn NDRF Guwahati and Indian Oil Corporation today carried out a mock exercise on industrial disaster and response at the bottling plant at North Guwahati to ensure effective response of Fire Brigade and employees of the bottling plant.
During the exercise NDRF rescuers established a command post and a medical base in safe zone, monitored the situation and provided pre-hospital treatment to victims. A response drill was rehearsed and practised to ensure an effective, speedy and safe operation with latest equipment.
Around 270 employees of the bottling plant witnessed the joint mock exercise. After the exercise a de-briefing session was done in which the role of the participating agencies was highly appreciated by a huge gathering of local public and civil administration.
The exercise concluded in the evening with a note to organise more such exercises in future so that effective response operations during industrial disaster can be carried out to save precious human lives.
