Mobile theatres urged to avoid indecent scenes

NALBARI, July 28 - The Nalbari Chahar committee of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) organised a citizens� meet at MNC Balika Mahavidyalaya recently in protest against the sexually explicit scenes in mobile theatres in the State.

The citizens meeting presided over by Dr Basanta Kumar Bhattacharya, former president of Nalbari Zilla Sahitya Sabha was attended by the representatives of Nalbari district unit of AASU, Nalbari Anchalik Karmachari Parishad, Nalbari Zilla Sahitya Sabha, Nalbari Chamber of Commerce, Marawari Yuba Mancha, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, Asam Natya Sanmilan Samiti, among others. The meeting strongly condemned the tendency of mobile theatre groups, their playwrights and artistes for instigating indecent and erotic scenes in mobile theatre plays.

The meeting called upon all concerned to refrain from such tendency in the culturally rich medium. The meeting decided to send letters to all concerned requesting to avoid such indecent scenes from mobile theatre plays .They also demanded the government to bring the mobile theatre groups under their control enforcing the Mobile Theatre Artistes Welfare Act 2013. The meeting was attended by more than 200 citizens of the town.
